About Left You on Venus:
Often descending into a world full of musical endeavours and ambivalent journeys, searching for better lands, shrugging away from conventions, striving for musical beatification, Left You On Venus formed 2006/7 is a one man band often flying solo enlisting friends and guests occasionally.
His sound has evolved around a constantly expanding set of influences, past and present. The results brings a broader, deeper understanding of different genres together pushing the limits and escaping categorization. Forever his music stretches the boundaries blending of an assortment of instruments, textures, timbres and percussion alongside crisply programmed beats, sound effects, as well as found sounds and field recordings, the scale, variety and musical charm make his music appreciative by the old and young of today’s society..
On the productions side of things he is never one to retreat from digital and analogue recording techniques, he often utilizes the possibilities provided by musical technologies old and new, “the music is about being innovative and expressing fresh new ideas whilst sticking to good old fashioned song structures - blending traditional ideals into a contemporary world of electronics / acoustics” .
With regards to what the future holds, LYOV has many songs lurking in the depths of his pockets, with many magical judo chopped beats, marionette rhythms, petit-bourgeois polyphonies and a little Elf to help keep his study tidy, his music is set to grow and mature. But, like most young producers, LYOV aspirations are simple: “I just want keep having fun”
