About D.S.S.
D.S.S. is the music project of Drew Scott, A Texas-based electronic music producer who’s emotions are heard through his music. Everyday life is an inspiration for him to create music. Ideas became reality in the beginning of 06′. An avid listener and lover of all types of music makes his ideas endless.
The first time he experienced electronic music was when he came across Paul Oakenfold’s 98′ release called Tranceport, from that point on it was like he found his second home away from the hip hop lifestyle. This somewhat defines his stylings to date. His style is ever-changing which gives him the experimental title. These are portraits of what goes through his mind Past, Present, and Future.
“Music has been pumping blood through my veins for as long as I can remember. I was dancing just about the same time that I could walk. The sounds of bass drums, snares, and cymbals make me move and think freely. My first experience with making music goes back to beat boxing on top of lunch tables to start freestyle cyphers. My first encounter with producing music was with a DAW called Fruity Loops the learning curve wasn’t to complex at that time it was more of hobby (like it is today) but at that time I was 16 and so many thing were conflicting with one another so I took a break from it. But then one day my life changed, around 2004-05 when I was playing a video game I came across one of the songs on the soundtrack by a group named Telefon Tel Aviv the song was called Sounds in a Dark Room. That song had changed the way I listened, interpreted and connected with music as a whole and after listening to more of there music and others in the electronic genre it ultimately changed my life for the better, after that state I wanted to express myself through music which was always there but just ignited a low flame. I don’t like to limit myself when it comes to music sometime when I create things I surprise myself at what I can do but I can’t get enough of that feeling music gives you. Life would not be the same without it.”
